Every Day I'm Shufflin'

It's been a minute since I've blogged, huh. I've had my hands FULL! I now have a mostly mobile little boy on my hands, school started back, and after five years of teaching I'm having to figure out a new routine that juggles work, students, baby, and hubs. It's a learning experience for sure.

Cash is as amazing as ever. I've been around some babies in my life, but I have NEVER been around a child who lives to smile and laugh like he does. This little boy will stare at you for minutes until you look at him, just so he can smile at you. And it makes my heart leap every single time.

I also turned thirty-three this week. Meh. Normally, I love birthdays and I look forward to them all year. This year I feel a little bit older. It's true what they say about kids aging you. And yeah, it's worth it, but it's still true. :) Luckily hubs is here to take the edge off. He's a full ten years older than I am, so I still get to say NANNY NANNY BOO BOO. You're so OLD. And I'm so YOUNG! :) It also helps that he brought home a dozen froo froo cupcakes and is taking me purse shopping and out on the town tonight. I got a good one, you guys!

And in a week and a half we'll be wheels up to Laguna for our five year anniversary. Five days away from kiddo is going to be tough, but I think I'll make it. Many, MANY thanks to Miss Dehli, Caroline My BFF, and hub's parents for tag teaming to keep the ankle-biter after the news that Okie Pa & Grandma wouldn't be able to keep him as planned because of a terrible car accident. Thankfully, everybody is alive and recovering, so we don't mind the monkey wrench in the plans.

Life is good. Fall is here. Music is back in the air. We had our first patio session since the baby was born after Cash went to bed last weekend. It felt SO good. We're gonna do it on the rooftop of Casa del Camino in Laguna. And that will feel amazing. I need my creative juices to start flowing again.

I'm so excited about life right now and all the things our little family is learning and doing. And the holidays are just around the corner! Exciting times all around!
